I’ve had my new Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE smartphone for one week now, and it’s just a great phone. Very well constructed with it’s aluminum frame and backing and not so much plastic (as with my previous Samsung Nexus 4g). It’s the thinnest phone I’ve ever owned, and seems even thinner than the current iPhone 4S (because the edges curve in). The EVO has a very large screen, which is bright and beautiful. The clarity of text on the screen is amazing, and best of all I get GREAT battery life. Under my normal daily usage, I can go 10 hours and still have 70% battery power left.
The EVO runs the Android 4.0 OS (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC’s “Sense” overlay skin. That means HTC modified the base Android OS with some enhancement features of it’s own. In most cases, these skins can be overly done and makes the interface appear too bloated or too different from the original Android OS appearance. Luckily, this version of Sense on the EVO LTE is just enough to enhance the OS without making it appear too different or bloated.
Speaking of bloat, there’s virtually no bloatware apps installed on the system (which is a good thing). So this smartphone is ready to go from the start with no extra stuff to drag you down. Absolutely excellent phone, which I would recommend to anyone who wants a high quality smartphone.
